When you start the License Authorization Wizard (LAW) to enter the authorization code for licensing. You receive the following message: &#8220;Warning! You do not have the correct administrator privileges to license this product. Log in as administrator and try again, or contact your network administrator to correct this issue. &#8221; Once this message is displayed the only option available is &#8220;OK&#8221; and you cannot enter your authorization code.<\/p>\n<h4><font style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Resolving The Problem<\/font><\/h4>\n<p>This is a picture of the warning:<br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"711\" height=\"449\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ibm.com\/support\/pages\/system\/files\/support\/swg\/dmgtech.nsf\/0\/d9d1dac2068800be85257ec0004f3667\/Content\/0.10E.gif\"><\/p>\n<p>If you encounter this message, perform the following procedure:<\/p>\n<p>If open, close the IBM SPSS Statistics product.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Statistics Release 28 and after and Statistics Subscription<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>If open, close the License Authorization Wizard.\n<li>Open Finder.\n<li>Select the &#8216;Go&#8217; menu.\n<li>Select the &#8216;Utilities&#8217; menu.\n<li>Open the Terminal program (\/Applications\/Utilities\/Terminal.app)\n<li>Type (copy and paste) the following command to change directory to the SPSS Statistics installation folder: <code>cd \/Applications\/<\/code>\n<li>Press the Enter or Return key on the keyboard.\n<li>Type (copy and paste) the following command: <code>sudo chown -R root:admin \"IBM SPSS Statistics\"<\/code>\n<li>Press the Enter or Return key on the keyboard.\n<li>Close Terminal.\n<li>Launch the License Authorization Wizard.\n<li>License your IBM SPSS Statistics product.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong><u>Statistics Release 27<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>If open, close the License Authorization Wizard.\n<li>Open Finder.\n<li>Select the &#8216;Go&#8217; menu.\n<li>Select the &#8216;Utilities&#8217; menu.\n<li>Open the Terminal program (\/Applications\/Utilities\/Terminal.app)\n<li>Type (copy and paste) the following command to change directory to the SPSS Statistics installation folder: <code>cd \/Applications\/IBM\/SPSS\/Statistics\/<\/code>\n<li>Type (copy and paste) the following command: <code>sudo chown -R root:admin 25&lt;\/code<\/code>\n<li>Press the Enter or Return key on the keyboard.\n<li>Close Terminal.\n<li>Launch the License Authorization Wizard.\n<li>License your IBM SPSS Statistics product.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong><u>To confirm the changes have been made<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>(1) In the Terminal window change directory to the following path (example for release 26)<\/p>\n<p><code>cd \/Applications\/IBM\/SPSS\/Statistics\/26\/SPSSStatistics.app\/Contents<\/code><\/p>\n<p>Then, type the following:<\/p>\n<p><code>ls \u2013l<\/code><\/p>\n<p><code><br \/><\/code><\/p>\n<p>(2) Press the Enter or Return key on the keyboard.<\/p>\n<p>If you see some or all of subfolders shows a group ownership other than &#8216;admin&#8217;
