It does not apply for Concurrent License type.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<h4><b>Diagnosing The Problem<\/b><b><\/b><\/h4>\n<p>Typical licensing flow for Authorized User is performed in the following order:<\/p>\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/cabit.top\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/wps1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"741\" height=\"363\" title=\"wps1\" style=\"display: inline; background-image: none;\" alt=\"wps1\" src=\"https:\/\/cabit.top\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/wps1_thumb.jpg\" border=\"0\"><\/a><b> <\/b><\/h5>\n<p>If you encounter a problem on the process above, please check the resolution steps listed below. <\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<h4><b>Resolving The Problem<\/b><b><\/b><\/h4>\n<p><b>1. N\/A<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>2. <\/b><b><i>Open License Authorization Wizard<\/i><\/b><b> issues. <\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><i>Windows<\/i><\/b><i>.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Try to run License Authorization Wizard as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.digitalcitizen.life\/how-run-programs-administrator-windows-7\">Administrator<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Disable Firewall, Antivirus or any software which can be blocking LAW<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><b><i>MacOS<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www-01.ibm.com\/support\/docview.wss?uid=swg21966637\">Getting a warning message &#8216;You do not have the correct administrator privileges&#8217; when attempting to license a SPSS Statistics product on Mac OS<\/a><\/p>\n<p>As a workaround, you may also try activating your product from the command line tool. Please refer to page 5-6 on <a href=\"ftp:\/\/public.dhe.ibm.com\/software\/analytics\/spss\/documentation\/statistics\/25.0\/en\/client\/InstallationDocuments\/Linux\/Authorized_User_License_Administrator_Guide.pdf\">this document<\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>3. <\/b><b><i>Apply the code <\/i><\/b><b>issues<\/b><\/p>\n<p>a)Please ensure that your code:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; is valid for the right version. Example: you cannot apply code created for SPSS Statistics v 26 on version 25<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; is valid for the right product: Example: you cannot apply code created for AMOS product on Statistics product<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; is not expired. License Authorization Wizard will not accept expired codes<\/p>\n<p>b) <a href=\"https:\/\/www-01.ibm.com\/support\/docview.wss?uid=swg21985888\">no available activations\/transfer license to new machine<\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>4. <\/b><b><i>Successful connection to server<\/i><\/b><b> issues<\/b><\/p>\n<p><i>You may encounter <\/i><a href=\"https:\/\/developer.ibm.com\/answers\/storage\/temp\/25278-screenshot-387-2.png\"><i>this<\/i><\/a><i> error<\/i><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; If License Authorization Wizard can&#8217;t connect to Licensing Server please ensure that the connection is not interrupted\/blocked by any external software. Disable Firewall, Antivirus or any software which can be blocking LAW<\/p>\n<p><b><i>5. No expected issues<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>6. <\/b><b><i>License Authorization Wizard creates license within SPSS installation directory.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>a) LAW creates a file containing a license key. Its name is <i>lservrc<\/i>. If you cannot find this file in the directoriers below, it means that file was not created due to limited permission for your user&#8217;s account on the PC. Sometimes you may see that LAW is indicating successful authorization but<\/p>\n<p>there is no <i>lservrc <\/i>file there is empty content of the file.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; If the file is there but it only contains &#8221; &#8221; sign, it means that LAW was not able to overwrite the file due to permission issues. Typical <i>lservrc<\/i> containing license key looks in this format:<br \/><i>A1B2C3D4E5F6G7H8I9J0K1L2M3N4O5P6Q7R8S9T0U1V2W3X4Y5Z6A7B8C9D0E1F2G3H4# &#8220;1200&#8221; version &#8220;250&#8221;, expires Midnight of Jan 31, 2020, exclusive<\/i><\/p>\n<p>lservrc Windows default path: C:\\Program Files\\IBM\\SPSS\\&lt;SPSS product&gt;\\&lt;SPSS product version&gt; <\/p>\n<p>lservrc MacOS default path: \/Applications\/IBM\/SPSS\/&lt;product&gt;\/&lt;product version&gt;\/ right click on SPSS&lt;product&gt;.app and select Show package content Then click on Contents -&gt; Bin folder.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>RESOLUTION: <br \/><b><i>Windows<\/i><\/b>: <\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Try to run License Authorization Wizard as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.digitalcitizen.life\/how-run-programs-administrator-windows-7\">Administrator<\/a><br \/>&#8211; On Windows 10 issue may be caused by insufficient privileges granted to the account. You may try to take <a href=\"https:\/\/www.laptopmag.com\/articles\/take-ownership-folder-windows-10-using-file-explorer\">full control<\/a> of SPSS installation directory <br \/><b><i>MacOS<\/i><\/b><br \/>In typical scenario authorization code is accepted, <i>lservrc<\/i> file is populated but SPSS product still cannot run properly (There is no license for SPSS product). This can happen on some MacOS systems when you have a <a href=\"https:\/\/www-01.ibm.com\/support\/docview.wss?uid=swg22004739\">lock code<\/a> starting with 10-.<\/p>\n<p>1) Open up FINDER <br \/>2) Open up the APPLICATIONS folder <br \/>3) Open up the IBM folder <br \/>4) Open up the SPSS folder <br \/>5) Open up the Statistics folder <br \/>6) Open up the folder for version of product<br \/>7) Locate the &#8220;SPSS&lt;product&gt;.app&#8221; (application bundle) right click, and choose &#8220;Show Package Contents&#8221;. <br \/>8) Open up the &#8220;Contents&#8221; folder <br \/>9) Open up the &#8220;bin&#8221; folder <br \/>10) Locate and Control Click the file <b>echoid.dat<\/b> and choose Open With, and then choose to open it with TextEdit.app (pre-installed on a Mac below Applications\\Utilities folder)<br \/>11) Change the value in the file echoid.dat <b>from 0x010 to 0x004<\/b><br \/>12) Save the echoid.dat file with same name<br \/>13) <b>Delete the current license file LSERVRC<\/b> file in this directory (if one exists, if not continue) <br \/>14) Run the License Authorization Wizard of SPSS on \/Applications\/IBM\/SPSS\/&lt;product&gt;\/&lt;version&gt;\/ while the computer is connected to the internet . <b>Make sure you see a lock code that begins with 4- on the wizard now. Use the same 20 digit authorization code you got before<\/b>. <br \/>15) <b>REBOOT the Mac.<\/b><br \/>16) then launch SPSS product.
