How to create an Authorization Code or License Key to activate the installation of SPSS products.
Cause
Do not have an authorization code or license key for SPSS software
Answer
To generate an authorization code or license key for your SPSS product, you will need to access the License Key Center. If you do not have access, please refer to the Accessing the License Key Center.
Generating an Authorization code:
Once logged in to the license key center, select “Generate Authorization Code” to generate a base code with or without additional modules, or “Add a feature to Your Installed Product” to generate a code for a module which you want to add to an existing installation.
1 – Select a Product/Version in an available Product Line. Then choose the desired product/version you wish to license. You will see Quantity Purchased and Quantity Available
2 – If Quantity = 0, it means the code(s) have already been generated. Select the ‘View’ link to view your code(s)
3 – If there is Quantity Available select Generate
4 – Choose Requested Quantity
5 – Select ‘Create Multiple codes’ or ‘One code’ for quantity requested
6 – If available, select one of more modules to be added (uncheck what should not be added). The available module quantity (between brackets) should be equal or lower to the Requested Quantity
7 – Optionally set an expiration date and fill out the free text fields (Customer Name, Order #, Purchase Order Number, Comments).
8 – Leave License Usage Type to default (New License) unless specifically instructed to do otherwise
9 – Choose Review and Generate
Generating a license key from your authorization code:

Some installations require a license key rather than an authorization code. Such situations are:
– your system does not have internet access
– your company’s security protocols do not allow your system to access the internet to generate a license key for your software. In this case you will need to generate a license key for your software.
Once you have generated an authorization code for your requested version you can use the License Key Center to generate your license key (only use these steps if the client to license has no internet or uses a proxy)
1 – Select the code
In the window where the generated authorization code is displayed, click on the authorization code. Or to access later, use the left side Licensing/My Authorization codes menu to “View” the code you generated.
2 – Enter end user’s “Locking Code” (the lock code is found by drilling down into the installation files and double clicking on the echoid.exe file)

3 – Select Activate
4 – Copy and paste the resulting license into the License Authorization Wizard to license the software.
(the License Authorization Wizard accepts both license keys as authorization codes, See above for restrictions)
